My BF went on a boys trip to Colorado. camping and a Vikings game. I wasn't crazy about being left alone with small children. Especially very energetic ones. My solution to maintain my sanity? Find child-friendly establishments and eat out every meal.
First stop, Parkway Pizza in Nordeast. They have small area where kids can create their own "pizza".
OK, so there was a lot of leftover pizza so we stayed in on Friday and hit up the Riverview Café in the Howe neighborhood. Which has a bigger playroom. and a library. And wine. The café part of the space has sandwiches and desserts. If you really hungry though, I would recommend going after 5 when the wine bar is open. They have a larger selection of cuisine and a full bar.
The last night we went to the Seward Café. Known for its vegetarian fare, it was some of the best food I've ever had. Check out the Mac & Cheese. And we were able to eat outside, which is fortunate, because there was no playroom for the kids. And my wild rice burger with cheese curd topping was to die for. Even the cole slaw was amazing. And I don't like cole slaw as a rule.
The next weekend looked like it was going to be the last nice weekend before the weather gets autumnish. we thought wed go back to our favorite Sea Salt, but every person in the world had that same idea because Sea Slat closes in late October, sadly. Yes, the line starts on the left and continues past the lens of my camera.
So we went to Riverside and were able to sample the full wine list and their dinner menu. While the kids played nicely in the playroom of course.
