They don't have beef tongue on the menu. But they did have a host who did not ask "whaddya'll have?" But asked if he could "make any recommendations". And "did we like meat?" "what kind?" Which is good because I might have gravitated to the enchiladas or the burritos and ended up with the Carne Asada, pictured above. Which I normally would not have ordered as the ones I've had in the past were really just heart-attacks on a plate with the overly large portions of meat, not mention the chesse, the rice, the refried beans. I pointed out to my favorite dining companion that my serving, unlike many in restaurants this day and age felt right. Not too big, (although I took a doggie bag home) and even better, the food didn't have the tell-tale signs of having being cooked in lard and oil. I felt good after eating. Not that I'd go out running a marathon, mind you, but I didn;t have that heavy, bloated feeling that can come from eating out. The lettuce (romaine!), tomato, onion & cilantro salad was fresh and therefore better than any made in advance salsa. Black beans instead of refried and the rice I suspect may have been saffron rice. which would make sense from it's Spanish roots.
